Today I came across a BRILLIANT campaign from Burger King where they tell their customers that they no longer sell the whopper. (Those of you in Australia know this as Hungry Jacks.)

They filmed their customers literally FREAKING OUT and you are then told to see how they freak out at WHOPPERFREAKOUT.com

They even give you embed code to place on your site. I am placing the video below.

I recently did a presentation talking about that fact that you CAN manufacture BUZZ and then when combined with keys to viral marketing, it can explode over the Internet in just days. They use a great catalyst with the television spots. Then along with humor and controversy, the buzz is created. Two very important factors in creating Buzz. And then, they leave you hanging for more, so you must go to the site.

After seeing the full video, you are then given a choice to embed the video and send an email about the site to a friend. (Which I did.)

Anyways, here is the video below, or you can visit the site yourself to see it all in action.

This evening an interesting discussion has arisen as our team has been working on a recent project. The discussion among our team centered around this question:

How does one evaluate the “goodness” of a product or service?

Obviously, there are many personal factors that center around your current situation, experience, education, and objectives. There also is no doubt a psychological perspective involving “perceived value” and whether the product measures up to your perception of what you purchased / downloaded.

There is also much ambiguity here in the definition of “goodness” within this particular question. However, that definition really is the crux of our team’s discussion.

The question that we pondered was as follows: (more…)

NEVER before in history could a REAL TRUE grass roots campaign have taken effect with JUST THE RIGHT message and and NOT the right amount of money.

Just 20 years ago, if you wanted anyone to hear you, you had to have the money in your party and not always the message. Or heck… you could have been like Ross Perot and bought your way into a party nomination

How may good presidents have we never seen because they did not have the money to go against people with deep pockets and lots of money pouring in from lobbyist?

Ron Paul has the right message (for many) as is obvious by his popularity with web savvy people (like me.) Yes, I even donated to his campaign and I wear his shirt on my little carton below (many of you picked up on that.)

But here is a person that, along with his team, REALLY AND TRULY get social media marketing better tha, honestly, anyone I have ever seen.

THEY ALL LAUGHED WHEN I SAID I WANT TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT…. THEN I RELEASED MY YOUTUBE VIDEOS…

Here is a guy that some would have laughed at 4 years ago because he had very very very little financial backing. TODAY, he as set a record for the MOST MONEY EVER RAISED in one day in the history of American politics! Way to go Ron!

I honestly feel, that you are witnessing the future of American and World politics. Finally GRASS ROOTS can get the message out.

But with that said, I think Ron Paul is actually 4 or even 8, or 12 years ahead of his time. He has changed the way politicians get the message out. Again, you need a good message to do it.

While I AM a Ron Paul supporter, I also encourage you to watch his marketing and how he uses social media better than any person in the history of the Internet.

He raised $6 Million in one day! Never had that been done before.

So sites to pay attention to are:

RonPaul2008.com
www.teaparty07.com/
www.ronpaulblimp.com/

Or just Youtube Search Ron Paul. Then you will see why it is OBVIOUS he gets SOCIAL MARKETER OF THE YEAR!

You want to read this. It is time to start lowering your prices and offering even more value to win in the coming months.

But before your RUN and knee-jerk react to what I am saying, make sure to read the entire blog post. It could have a MAJOR impact on your business if you UNDERSTAND this going into 2008.

The economy is in a funk. Here is the US, there is no doubt about it.

The War in Iraq has the US Gov’t printing money like Parker Bros. does for monopoly.

And every day our dollar gets weaker in the Global economy.

That means higher shipping prices and higher prices over all.

Compound that with Banks on the run and foreclosure ratings nearing and all time high… the bottom line is this:

TIMES WILL BE BAD FOR A WHILE>>> VERY BAD

You see, people could always go back to the well. Rate were at 5.9% and you could refinance and get $100k, $80, $20k, $50K…

Over and over… and this money went RIGHT BACK into the economy. Right into HOME DEPOT, plumbers, fences, contractors, roofing, vacations, and yes… even YOUR products and services.

Now… The well has run dry. There is no where else to run. People will now realize there is no were else to get that easy money.

And now, there will be a HUGE trickle down effect as well.

And you will see it in less people buying your products. PERIOD. If you have no money or are losing your job or house, you are less likely to spend any money you have!

So YOUR CONVERSION WILL SUFFER…

But, THERE IS AN UPSIDE…if you market in the B2B or “Internet Marketing” or Home based Biz world.

You see, when the WELL GOES DRY, more and more people will be flocking to online marketing.

So you may still see the same number of sales every day. It will be because you are going to see even MORE people coming into online marketing. So you may have your conversion rate got from 3% to 1% but you may see your site visitors go from 30 per day to 90 per day. At the end of the day, if we are lucky, we may just make the same amount of money ONLY because there will be more people coming into the market.

BUT.. HOW CAN YOU INCREASE BUSINESS knowing this information.

My advice to you is to provide MORE FREE CONTENT.

People will be looking more and more for GOOD QUALITY CONTENT on starting an online business. They just want have that EASY AS PIE disposable income that they once might have had. They will be flocking to people that offer FREE content and at good usable quality as well.

But it should not stop there. Consider your pricing strategy. Normal I would tell you to raise your prices and just offer more value. But with the economy taking a sharp turn, I think if you win in all ways as for as a better product/rvice with the best support, and combine that with a competitive pricing structure, your legion of fans from your FREE content will be more likely to becoming LOYAL LIFETIME CUSTOMERS.

And remember, your competition is not giving out any good free content. And he/she is not paying attention to the fact that it will not be easy for people buy at an impulse anymore.

People in the marketplace will be thinking a lot more about the risk before they make purchases. If you keep this blog post in mind over the next year and until we see a new spike in the economy, it can really help you to capitalize on INCREASED MARKET SAHRE AND PROFITS while while many will be singing the retail blues.

After the Prediction Call, the message was clear… “If You Can’t Keep Up, You’ll Be Left Behind” Several speakers including Rich Schefren and Jeff Walker spoke about the importance of producing high quality content and how that will play a bigger and bigger role in your marketing process. But Jeff also said one more thing that caught my [...]
